Jurisprudence of the Spanish National Court on Competition Law 2008, 2099 and 2010

On 26 February 2013, the Rafael del Pino Foundation and the National Competition Commission organised the presentation of the book "Jurisprudencia de la audiencia nacional en materia de derecho de la competencia 2008, 2099 y 2010" at the National Competition Commission. The book was presented by Ángel Juanes, president of the National Court, Joaquín García Bernaldo de Quirós, president of the National Competition Commission, Amadeo Petitbó, director of the Rafael del Pino Foundation and the authors of the book Juan Manuel Fernández López and Mercedes Pedraz Calvo. 

This book brings together, in full text, the judgments handed down by the Audiencia Nacional in 2008, 2009 and 2010, following on from the previous Diez años de Jurisprudencia de la Audiencia Nacional en materia de Derecho de la Competencia (Ten years of Audiencia Nacional Jurisprudence on Competition Law). 

The main objective of this, like that of the former, is to bring together the doctrine emanating from the TDC in both the substantive and procedural application of the LDC and the CNC whose decisions are reviewed in the courts. It is completed with a thematic index of the main substantive and procedural issues, which allows the reader to search more easily for those judgements referring to a specific issue of interest to them. Juan Manuel Fernández López is currently practising as a lawyer specialising in commercial matters. He is a member of the judiciary as a Magistrate, on voluntary leave of absence since 2008. He has been a member and Vice-President of the TDC. He has several publications on Competition Law and regularly participates in national and international forums on this subject. He directs the journal Comunicaciones en Propiedad Industrial y Derecho de la Competencia. He is a member of the Association of European Judges specialising in Competition Law. 

Mercedes Pedraz Calvo is a judge assigned to the Administrative Chamber of the National High Court, which is responsible for hearing appeals against decisions of the current National Competition Commission. She is the author of numerous publications on the subject, as well as books on economic law and tax law.
