The economics of climate change

The Rafael del Pino Foundation is organising, on the coming 26 November 2026 at 7.00 pm, the dialogue «The Economics of Climate Change» in which the following will participate Rafael Doménech, Javier Andrés, Lara Lázaro and Gloria Lomana, to mark the launch of the book of the same title, written by Rafael Doménech and Javier Andrés and published by Deusto.

Participants:

Rafael Doménech

Head of Economic Analysis at BBVA Research and Professor of the Fundamentals of Economic Analysis at the University of Valencia. He has served as Director-General of the Prime Minister’s Economic Office and Director of the Institute of International Economics. His research focuses on economic growth, human capital, economic cycles, and monetary and fiscal policies. He is co-author, alongside Javier Andrés, of In search of prosperity y The era of digital disruption.

Javier Andrés

Professor of the Fundamentals of Economic Analysis at the University of Valencia and a member of the Advisory Council of the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF). He has served as programme manager for the Ministry of Science and Technology’s National Research Programme in Socio-Economics. His research has focused on economic cycles, monetary and fiscal policies, the labour market and imbalances in the international economy. He is co-author of various academic publications and several books, together with Rafael Doménech.

Lara Lázaro

Principal researcher at the Elcano Royal Institute and lecturer in Economic Theory at the Cardenal Cisneros Centre for Higher Education, affiliated with the Complutense University of Madrid. She holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and specialises in environmental economics, climate policy, the energy transition and international governance of climate change. She has pursued her research and teaching career at academic institutions and national and international think tanks.

Gloria Lomana (moderator)

A journalist and writer with extensive experience in the field of media and political reporting. She was director of Antena 3’s News Services between 2003 and 2016 and managing director of Antena 3 Noticias. She is the founder and executive chair of 50&50 Gender Leadership, chair of the Forbes Women Advisory Board and a regular contributor to the media. She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Fundación MAPFRE.
