Presentation of the book "The Economics of the Administration of Justice".

On 12 March 2012, the General Council of the Judiciary, in collaboration with the Rafael del Pino Foundation, hosted the presentation of the book "The Judicial Power of Spain".The economics of the administration of justice", by Francisco Cabrillo y Sean Fitzpatrickpublished by Thomson Reuters.

The presentation of the work was made by Carlos DívarPresident of the General Council of the Judiciary and of the Supreme Court. The event was also attended by the following people Maria del PinoPresident of the Rafael del Pino Foundation; Claro José Fernández CarniceroMember of the above-mentioned General Council; and the authors: Francisco CabrilloProfessor of Economics at the Complutense University of Madrid, and Sean FitzpatrickConsultant to the Economic and Social Council of the Autonomous Community of Madrid. Among those attending the event were the Attorney General of the State, Eduardo Torres-Dulce and the Secretary of State for Justice, Fernando Romántogether with Angel JuanesPresident of the Audiencia Nacional and Francisco Javier VieiraPresident of the High Court of Justice of Madrid.

The starting point of the book is the need for a systematic study of the incentives faced by actors in the world of litigation and the administration of justice and the design of mechanisms to improve the outcomes of litigation and the administration of justice.

The book has undoubtedly been of interest both to law professors and lawyers specialising in legal and procedural reform issues and to economists and political scientists interested in the role of institutions in economic development.
