The entrepreneur as an engine of growth

In collaboration with the Businessmen's Circle

On 29 April 2014, the Rafael del Pino Foundation, in collaboration with the Círculo de Empresarios, organised the round table "The entrepreneur as an engine of growth".

The entrepreneur is an essential element in any modern economy; he is the central figure without whom there can be no market economy, which is the most efficient way of allocating productive resources, creating jobs and generating wealth and welfare for society as a whole.

The fundamental work carried out by the entrepreneur is not always well known by the public. This lack of knowledge often leads to a distorted image of entrepreneurs and the real importance of their role, when entrepreneurial activity is essential to overcome the crisis and create jobs.

Following the presentation of the survey "The Image of the Entrepreneur in Spain", which was conducted by Monica de OriolThe President of the Círculo de Empresarios, a debate was held on "the entrepreneur as an engine of growth" with the participation of the following personalities:

Begoña CristeroSecretary General for Industry and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism
Elsa GonzálezPresident. Federation of Spanish Press Associations
Julio MartínezRector. Comillas Pontifical University ICAI-ICADE
Monica de OriolPresident. Businessmen's Circle
