1st Shape Europe Meeting

Global Shapers

The Rafael del Pino Foundation collaborated with Global Shapers in the organisation of the Shape Europe meeting that took place on 27 November 2013.

Global Shapers is a community created by the World Economic Forum to serve as a platform for young people in their 20s and 30s who are "exceptional in their potential, their achievements and their willingness to contribute to their communities"; a generation that, according to World Economic Forum founder and chairman Klaus Schwab, "has the passion, dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit to shape the future".

Globally, the community has around 1,800 members in 218 cities around the world, organised in a network of centres - or hubs - from which to drive local change to address global challenges.

Shape Europe is an annual project aimed at solving problems related to youth unemployment through actions and activities that generate a positive impact on society with the purpose of improving the environment. The event held at the Rafael del Pino Foundation is the first Global Shapers event held in Europe.
