On 15 September 2014, the Rafael del Pino Foundation organised Jeremy Rifkin's Keynote Lecture "The Zero Marginal Cost Society" on the occasion of the publication of his latest book of the same title.

Jeremy Rifkin holds a BA in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. He is currently president of the Foundation on Economic Trends and the author of nineteen books on the impact of scientific and technological change on the economy, labour, society and the environment.

Professor Rifkin advises the European Commission, the European Parliament as well as several EU presidents and heads of state on issues related to the economy, climate change and energy security.

Jeremy Rifkin is Chairman of TIR Consulting Group LLC and founder and Chairman of the Third Industrial Revolution Global CEO Business Roundtable, which brings together some 100 leading companies in renewable energy, construction, architecture, real estate, utilities, and transportation and logistics. He is also a professor in the Executive Education Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
