On 11 December 2013, the Rafael del Pino Foundation organised a conference by Mario Alonso Puig entitled "The Guts Quotient. If you change your mind, you change your life" on the occasion of the presentation of his book of the same title.

Mario Alonso Puig is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a member of the Leadership Council of the World Economic Forum (Davos) and winner of the ASEDEF award for best communicator in the field of health.
