On 18 February 2014, the Rafael del Pino Foundation organised Tony Podesta's Keynote Lecture "Lobbying, transparency and accountability".

Tony Podesta, a professional lobbyist, is recognised as one of the world's leading lobbyists. "50 heavy lifters of Washington by the Financial Times and "one of Washington's biggest players". by The New York Times. Founder of the Podesta Group, he has worked for companies such as Bank of America and BP, as well as for foreign governments and US politicians such as Ted Kennedy, George McGovern, Michael Dukakis, Ed Rendell and Bill Clinton, among others.

Tony Podesta studied political science at the University of Illinois at Chicago and graduate school at MIT. He holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and is the founder of the group People For the American Way.
