Bo Rothstein

Quality of Government: What it is; What you get; How to get it

On 16 January 2014, the Rafael del Pino Foundation organised Bo Rothstein's Keynote Lecture "Quality of Government: What it is; What you get; How to get it". Bo Rothstein is August Röhss Professor in Political Science at the University of Gothenburg, where he is head of the Quality of Government Institute. He is scientific coordinator of ANTICORRP (Anti-Corruption Policies Revisited) a research project that started in 2012 and consists of 21 research groups in 16 EU countries.

Professor Rothstein received his PhD from Lund University in 1986 and was an associate professor at Uppsala University until 1995. He has also been a visiting professor at the Russell Sage Foundation, Collegium Budapest Institute for Advanced Study, Harvard University, University of Washington-Seattle, Cornell University, Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study, the Australian National University and Stanford University, as well as adjunct professor at the University of Bergen and Aalborg University.

His most recent books are: The Quality of Government: Corruption, Inequality and Social Trust in International Perspective; Good Government; The Relevance of Political Science together with Sören Holmberg.

In 2012, Professor Rothstein was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
