The Rafael del Pino Foundation is organising, on 30 October 2024 at 7 p.m., the Dialogue "What is happening to us? Capitalism and democracy in the age of disorder" in which Moisés Naím, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, Luis Garicano and Maite Rico will participate on the occasion of the presentation of the latest book by Moisés Naím "What is happening to us: 121 ideas to scrutinise the 21st century" published by Debate. Moisés Naím is a Venezuelan writer and columnist who directed Foreign Policy magazine between 1996 and 2010 and since 2011 has presented Efecto Naím, a weekly television programme on international affairs that is broadcast in dozens of countries around the world.
Juan Miguel Zunzunegui Keynote Lecture
The Rafael del Pino Foundation and the Asociación Unidos por la Historia are organising the Master Conference "Together we were an empire" on 5 November 2024 at 7 pm. At the conference, Juan Miguel Zunzunegui will explain how false myths about the history of Spain have been created and perpetuated, offering a critical analysis to vindicate its true essence. Juan Miguel Zunzunegui is a Mexican writer, historian and academic. He holds a degree in Communication and a Master's degree in Humanities from the Universidad Anahuac. Jesús Fernández-Villaverde Keynote Lecture
Jesús Fernández-Villaverde will give a Master Lecture at the Rafael del Pino Foundation on 12 December 2024 at 19:00. Jesús Fernández Villaverde is Howard Marks Presidential Professor of Economics and Director of the Penn Initiative for the Study of the Markets at the University of Pennsylvania, Fellow of the Econometric Society and member of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), of the "group of one hundred" and of the editorial board of relevant national and international publications. He holds a degree in Law and Economics and Business Administration from ICADE and a PhD in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
