The Foundation The Rafael del Pino Fellowship at the Observatory of the Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures in the United States of the Instituto Cervantes at Harvard University, within the framework of its Collaboration Agreement with this Institute, was awarded from 2013 to 2019. The Observatory's main objective is to establish itself as a permanent space of international reference for the study, prospective analysis and diagnosis of the situation of the Spanish language in the USA and the world.

In the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 academic years, the grant was awarded to Clara González Tosat, who successfully completed her study on the use of Spanish in the media, which was published in the Instituto Cervantes' publication Ciberperiodismo en español en los Estados Unidos (Cyberjournalism in Spanish in the United States).
