Pedro Schwartz Girón, Rafael del Pino Professor at the Camilo José Cela University, has developed, in 2015, his teaching and research activity at the aforementioned university. Professor Schwartz's main lines of research are as follows: "Democratic Capitalism: Progress and Paradox", a complete rewriting in English of his work "In Search of Montesquieu. Democracy in Peril" (2007), with special attention to the economic crisis between 2007 and 2014; edition of the "Iberian Writings of Jeremiah Bentham", works and correspondence of this author related to Spain, Portugal and Latin America; and "Free banking in Spain (1856-1875)", a study of the period of free competition in the issuance of banknotes in Spain.
