On 20 September 2004, the Director of the Foundation and Professor Francisco Cabrillo signed a research agreement for the drafting of a book on the economic analysis of the administration of justice and litigation, which was published by a British publisher under the title "Economics of Courts and Litigation".

The main target groups of the book have been lawyers and economists. The aim of the book is twofold: on the one hand, to address the issue globally, and, on the other, to focus on the systems of administration of justice in countries with a civil law tradition (most of Europe, almost all of Latin America and many other countries in the world). While it is true that there is a wide range of works on these issues, especially articles published in specialised legal and economic journals, it is also true that in most cases the authors are North American and there is no book that addresses the issue globally.

On the other hand, most books to date have focused on the American civil system and, although many of the issues raised are formally identical in all countries, there are undoubtedly important differences between them that explain both the peculiarities in the resolution of certain issues and the different levels of litigation or social costs.

The content of this research materialised in the book "Economics of Courts and Litigation" published in 2008.
