Fernando Fueyo was born in Vilaller (Valle de Arán, Lérida) in 1945. Considered one of the best artists of nature, he has twice been awarded the International Prize of the Scientific Society of Science and Enlightenment and the Spanish Geographical Society.

Since the 1980s, his paintings and illustrations have attracted the attention of the scientific world and those with a passion for the art of nature. Fernando Fueyo's daily work is based on a long observation of trees, animals and all aspects related to the natural environment.

He has spent a lifetime illustrating nature and defending natural heritage through magazines such as Quercus, Natura, Ambiental, GNCI and Muy Interesante. Endowed with an unequalled technique for watercolour and drawing, during the creation process he notes, imagines, but above all he mentally elaborates the shapes, colours, details and special features.

In 2010 he exhibited in Caja de Burgos -Una mirada natural- which constituted a vision of nature in Burgos through painting endowed with extraordinary artistic vigour.

On 22 March 2012 Fernando Fueyo and Eudald Carbonell, Executive Vice-President of the Atapuerca Foundation, inaugurated the exhibition "Atapuerca, Rainbow of Human Evolution". The exhibition was on display at the Atapuerca Foundation headquarters until 23 May.
