Professor of Fundamentals of Economic Analysis at the University of Valencia. MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and PhD in Economics from the University of Valencia.

He has been Director General in the Presidency of the Government, where he was Deputy Director of the Economic Office of the President of the Government, Director of the Institute of International Economics, member of the Advisory Board of the University of Valencia, advisor to SEPES and CDTI.

He has also been an external consultant to the OECD, the European Commission, the Fundación de Economía Analítica, and has collaborated as a researcher with the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Rafael del Pino Foundation. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Economic Association, of the editorial committees of Investigaciones Económicas, Moneda y Crédito, Revista de Economía Aplicada, Hacienda Pública Española and Monetaria. Rapporteur of the National Statistical Plan 2013-2016. Member of the Public Policy Advisory Group of UNESPA and of the Expert Forum of the AVIVA Savings and Pensions Institute. He was appointed by the Government as a member of the Committee of Experts on the Sustainability Factor of the Public Pension System.

He has published numerous articles on growth, human capital, business cycles and monetary and fiscal policies in prestigious national and international scientific journals (including the Journal of the European Economic Association, the American Economic Review, The Economic Journal and the European Economic Review). He is the author of the books The Spanish Economy: A General Equilibrium Perspective, published by Palgrave MacMillan, and En Busca de la Prosperidad, published by Deusto.
