Professor Rafael del Pino, Leandro Prados de la Escosura, Professor of Economic History at the Carlos III University of Madrid, carries out his research activity with the aim of providing continuity and completing with new contributions various research projects on economic freedom, human development and the Spanish economy in historical perspective.

In 2018, one of its lines of research focused on the edition of the work Spanish Economic Growth, 1850-2015 published by Palgrave MacMillan and offered by the Foundation for free access, which has resulted in more than 50,000 downloads of the work. Professor Prados de la Escosura offered the Foundation the possibility of publishing online the time series of the Spanish economyThis proposal materialised in the publication of the same in the Foundation's research area in a format open to the public.
