Objective therapy and audio-visual rehabilitation for spinal cord injury victims

The first hospital-based operational unit of the Objective Therapy and Audiovisual Rehabilitation Project (Toyra), aimed at the rehabilitation of people affected by spinal cord injury, was launched in September 2010 at the facilities of the National Hospital of Paraplegics in Toledo.

After the first phase in the development of the project, focused on the implementation of the Toyra hospital units, the following phases were developed, aimed, on the one hand, at adapting it to other types of pathologies and treatment environments and, on the other hand, at making a home version available, extending its scope of application.

This projectwhich the Rafael del Pino Foundation is developing in collaboration with the Foundation of the aforementioned Hospital and the INDRA Group, aims to develop a therapeutic platform that allows the management of multiple patients by a small number of physiotherapists and, at the same time, facilitates the appropriate telematic management of the evolution of each one of them.

The intention of the three entities involved in Toyra is to develop successive projects, with long-term economic viability, so that the fruits derived from the efficient, market-oriented management of these projects will allow profits to be obtained, which will be reinvested in the development of new projects.
