On 10 February 2022 he passed away Ms Ana María Calvo-Sotelo y BusteloPatroness of the Rafael del Pino Foundation and wife of its founder, D. Rafael del Pino y Moreno.

A cultured, generous person, committed to countless social causes, she was a paragon of honesty and moral integrity that she passed on to her descendants, values that also permeated, from her first steps, thanks to her effort and dedication, the work and spirit of the Rafael del Pino Foundation.

As can be seen in the attached photo gallery, Doña Ana María accompanied the birth of the Programme of conferences and meetings of the Rafael del Pino FoundationShe always attended with the elegance, good humour and impeccable manners that characterised her to the personalities who visited the Foundation, such as Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, President Bill Clinton or the Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, at events that she frequently attended at the Foundation's headquarters. This was also the case of the The Foundation's Excellence Scholarship ProgrammeHe was also a regular visitor to the training and research programmes, which he visited on a regular basis.

Active Patron, with relevant interventions in the governing body of the Foundation, always found the right words to favour consensus, as well as to encourage and stimulate the activity of the executive team.

Some of the Rafael del Pino Excellence Fellows recently recalled the attention, care and affection that he instilled in the institution and which, in his own words, live on today in its activities, programmes and organisational culture. The Royal Academy of History also vindicated his memory by highlighting the generous work he did for this learned institution.

By sharing the memory of Doña Ana MaríaThe affection of all of us who had the privilege of knowing her, proud to have lived so many unforgettable moments with her, transcends the affection of all of us who had the privilege of knowing her. These words are a token of our gratitude and recognition of her person and a token of our deepest sympathy for her passing. May she rest in peace.
