Sergio Matarraz

Sergio Matarraz Sudón holds a PhD from the Department of Medicine of the University of Salamanca (Spain). Sergio Matarraz Sudón holds a PhD from the Department of Medicine of the University of Salamanca (Spain). Here he obtained the highest degree "Cum Laude" in 2009 and the "Premio extraordinario de tesis doctoral" in 2010 with his work entitled "Caracterización inmunofenotípica de los síndromes mielodisplásicos" (Immunophenotypic characterisation of myelodysplastic syndromes).

Dr. Mararraz works full time as a postdoctoral researcher in the Cytometry Service at the Cancer Research Centre (CIC) of the University of Salamanca. His main scientific contributions focus on the immunophenotyping of myelodysplastic syndromes and acute leukaemias. He has contributed to 41 publications and has made more than 200 contributions to scientific events.

Additionally, Sergio Matarraz has been awarded consecutively with the Young Investigator Award by the International Society of Laboratory Haematology (ISLH) and the International Clinical Cytometry Society (ICCS) together with two consecutive Mentions in the "Scientific Merits" by the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC).
