The Foundation The Rafael del Pino Fellowship at the Observatory of the Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures in the United States of the Instituto Cervantes at Harvard University, within the framework of its Collaboration Agreement with this Institute, was awarded from 2013 to 2019. The Observatory's main objective is to establish itself as a permanent space of international reference for the study, prospective analysis and diagnosis of the situation of the Spanish language in the USA and the world.

In the 2016-2017 academic year, Rosana Hernández Nieto was the recipient of the grant to conduct a study on public policies on Spanish implemented by the U.S. Rosana renewed the grant in the 2017-2018 academic year to conduct a study on public policies on Spanish implemented by the U.S. administration.
