The Rafael del Pino Foundation has signed a Collaboration Agreement with the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) to support the Scientific Foundation of this Association through the endowment of an Oncology Research Grant, named after the Founder, Rafael del Pino y Moreno. The grant was awarded for the first time on 27 September 2006.
In the period 2013-2016, the Rafael del Pino oncology research grant has been awarded to Dr. Sergio Matarraz, researcher at the Cancer Research Centre, CIC Salamanca. His research project is entitled "Development of a new technological approach for the evaluation of the degree of bone marrow alteration/dysplasia in patients with low-risk myelodysplastic syndromes".
