Since the beginning of its activities, the Foundation has sponsored research which, within the framework of its foundational aims, due to its relevance, can have a significant impact on Spanish society. Likewise, the Foundation considers that the study, knowledge and dissemination of history is fundamental to be able to project the future.
The Foundation pays particular attention to the study and dissemination of the History of Spain, through the protection of the Royal Academy of History or support for rigorous research projects that have resulted in the publication of numerous encyclopaedic works on institutions such as the Monarchy, the Church or the Constitution of Cadiz, in-depth historical studies on key periods and realities in our history and precise and complete works on the history of exploration in the world or the reinterpretation of episodes that took place in the territories of the United States of America and Latin America. The following is a list of the most relevant research, among more than a hundred studies focused on the field of history, in which the Rafael del Pino Foundation since its creation. These research projects include publications that have received the Spanish National History Prizeas the works "the governance of the monarchy of Spain, 1555-1700".by the teacher Feliciano Barrios, y "The King. History of the monarchy".coordinated by Professor José Antonio Escuderoas well as the award of the World History Association for "Pathfinders: A Global History of Exploration" by Professor Felipe Fernández-Armesto.
