World economy

The world economy is continuously exposed to structural macroeconomic shocks of different nature that impact with different intensity and direction on variables such as GDP, international trade, employment, competitiveness, etc.

The Observatory on the World Economic Cycle, the result of the work of professors José Bosca, Javier Ferri, and Vicente Pallardó evaluates the structural factors that explain the cyclical behaviour of the world economy, estimating their contribution to the annual growth rate of macroeconomic variables, and analyses the weight of the main disturbances that have affected the GDP and, in particular, the foreign sector.
